I have a big question that might sound basic, though if you stop to think about it, it’s a rather good question. The question is: can drug addicts consume alcohol? Can everyday people who are addicted to drugs or that have been addicted to drugs drink alcoholic beverages without creating an addiction to alcohol? Obviously, there are people who struggle because of substance addictions, regardless of whether these tend to be in the past or present, everyday. These folks could also drink alcohol, an additional addicting substance. Will they form an addiction to this substance based off of their substance addiction? I’m certain I’m not really going to obtain a single reply from this. I’m confident there are several replies out there and responses which men and women will disagree over. But what’s the general consensus?
The reason I ask is I have known a couple illegal substance addicts which started drinking. They both developed unique responses to the alcohol. So currently I feel a touch confused on precisely what the particular answer is to this sort of a question. I had this specific friend, Adam, who was in fact a using drug addict when he began to drink fairly heavily. He was in fact addicted to cocaine and some kind of pain killer pills. He was actually a splendid guy in general, but any time this guy was high on these particular things, it came to be just plain strange. It was apparent this individual had a condition and required help, and yet he wouldn’t go for that and in addition no one came for him. Then he started drinking. He soon got to be an alcoholic as well. Basically, Basically, this guy would need a certain percentage of cocaine, pain killer pills, along with booze daily to be able to function. It was clear he had addictions to both, and those had to be handled in rehab as co-occurring disorders.
On the other hand, I had another friend, Nicole, who was previously a substance addict, went to treatment needed for drug addiction, came back out, proceeded to go right back into typical life, drank alcohol within social settings, and was in fact fine. This is what confuses. She actually was put through treatment for a particular habit forming substance and in addition pertaining to this problem of addiction itself. I was under the impression that these individuals are educated to steer clear of all habit forming materials there after since it is a lot more likely that they can end up getting addicted to alcoholic beverages themselves. However, However, the girl was and is absolutely fine. She might perhaps take in alcohol in all forms intensively at a few social settings and be fine.
So, what precisely is it? Can illegal substance addicts drink alcohol? Is it feasible for these kinds of men and women to take pleasure in this other habit forming substance without becoming addiction? I bet that it’s incredibly likely that addiction will form. That doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s for sure though.
