My brother in law has severe injuries from serving 2 tours in Iraq to just give you an idea of his history.
However instead of pain management the military starting pushing narcotic pain relievers down his throat. The more numb he was the longer tour spent over there. Eventually after being homebound he continued using them switching up between perks, Vicodin etc…. on top of that he was diagnosed w PTSD adding several more pills into his toxic pill cocktail. He\’s been declared 80% disabled and receives VA pay for that as well as a full time good paying job. He spends a lot of spare money on what i think are narcotics… now he has Rheumatoid Arthritis, almost no vitamin d, low testosterone and severe colon issue as well as weak stomach problems. I believe its all subject from abuse of the pain pills and hes only 29 years old.
Is this just a miraculous coincidence or are my suspicions right on target?? I\’ve approached family about my concerns and theyve given up :(
I am terrified he will continue on this deadly regimen and end up oding or die in his sleep.
Idk of any sites to do some research on and make sure I have facts and show my concern. Coming from me I should know first hand I suffer from some pretty debilitating illnesses myself and know that prescribed medication can be enticing and seem very safe since its legally prescribed to you. Please i need some information and documentation on this?!?!? Anyone???

    Nikki,

I am so glad to see someone else voicing the same concerns I have. My husband is a 32 yr old disabled vet and has been prescribed numerous cocktails of narcotics over the past 6 years. I truly understand how concerned you are. We are currently looking into the effect of the narcotics on his severely low testosterone and vitamin D deficiency. I was wondering if you had received any information and concrete evidence to support your beliefs. We are fighting everyday to get help for him. We have a two sons, 12 and 1, and his constant fatigue and chronic pain make life extremely difficult. He has just last week been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia as well. I don’t know if there is any relevance with that or not, but it just seems like it’s just another straw for the camel’s back.
